Just Posted: Tier 1 Technical Support Engineer

General Description:
Technical Support Engineer for the company’s family of software based products. Candidate will possess a broad technical knowledge of analog, digital, IPTV services and data service provisioning. Candidate will be experienced in providing excellent customer service and problem escalation and resolution.

Primary Job Functions:
Provide Tier 1 support to end users and vendors. Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone, web based tools and email. Advise customers regarding the product’s proper use and address specific user issues. During problem escalations, act as a liaison between customers and Tier 2 Technical Support. Candidate will assist the customer base during installations.

Experience: 2+ years of Telecom and Networking experience in a technical support/help desk environment.

Education: Network+ and/or RDCE certification (preferred)

Work Status: Full time Travel: Position requires 15% travel.

Software Engineer

Job Description

Looking for a software developer to work on a team charted with re-implementing an existing C language GUI into Java/GWT and related technologies. The ideal candidate should be a disciplined, self-starter who takes ownership and pride in developing well-written, elegant, maintainable code in a small team environment with a high degree of team interaction. This is a head’s-down, strong follow-ship, development opportunity with strong growth potential on a long-term project with a stable company. Candidate should also be interested in learning new technologies where appropriate.

Required Experience and Skills:
Software engineer with 5+ years of software development experience; must be knowledgeable in prevailing applications design principles including client/server application design, object oriented programming, and web application design. Must also have experience with IP network programming using Sockets and database access programming using interfaces such as ODBC and/or OLEDB. Must also possess experience in writing graphical users interfaces for Windows utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) and/or Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).

Job Qualifications:

  • 2 to 3 years minimum solid OO (Java) development experience

Maintain and develop ETI’s Ad Insertion platform, a Windows-based client/server application written in C++ and deployed in the cable TV space. This position will also maintain and develop web applications and services utilizing Microsoft .NET Framework technologies.
