Peter M. Pifer, President and CEO
This division’s products were terrestrial microwave and satellite communications equipment for television transmission. The principal customers were CATV companies, broadcasters and SMATV operators. Mr. Pifer was also a member of M/ACom’s M and A team, which grew the company from 50 million to 450 million dollars in three years. From 1962 to 1977, Mr. Pifer was an executive with Scientific-Atlanta, Inc., a Cisco company engaged in providing telecommunications systems for industry and defense. From 1972 to 1977, he was Division Manager, Satellite Communications, and was responsible for developing and marketing satellite earth stations for data, voice and television transmission. From 1977 to 1978, Mr. Pifer was self-employed as a technical consultant in the field of satellite communications. He is a graduate of Ohio State University with a B.S.E.E. Degree and is a graduate of the Harvard University Business School. Mr. Pifer is active with FTTH council, NTCA, SCTE, APPA and other industry trade associations.
